Super Kings practise by playing 15-over a side match


Highly paid overseas players and domestic lot of the Chennai Super Kings, one of the favourites for the title in the Indian Premier League Twenty-20 cricket tournament, played a 15-over a side practice match here on Monday.

The first of Chennai Super Kings 14 matches will be against Kings XI Punjab in Mohali on April 19.

Summing up the day’s proceedings, V B Chandrasekar, a former national cricketer and head of cricketing matters of the India Cements owned Chennai team said ‘we were able to assess the fitness levels of players.There are no issues over that but one or two more matches before we engage ourselves in our first match in Mohali would have been of greater help to the players’.
